Please help, I still can't log onto any instant messengers.

About a week ago I Restored my computer back a few weeks since it was running slow. Then a couple days later I tried logging onto an instant messenger called yahoo. And for some reason it would just not let me log into ANY instant messenger. When I tried logging into MSN I troubleshooted it and it said I need key ports or something, any help or suggestions?
