That's true. Sorry I forgot to mention a new copy will not allow you to resurect that character. However I still suggest you buy a new copy, or be ready to, and make sure you have your login, password, and memberID/polID or whatever written down somewhere safe. The reason is that if anything ever happens to your computer or you want to play on another computer etc... you will need to be able to resinstall ffxi which will require the registration keys(I'm pretty sure). Once you have ffxi installed on the machine you can use your old accounts memberID/login and password to play your old account from that machine. I can't remember if you'll need...

Dunno Hammy I've been running for most of a day and had no problems but I haven't been monitoring too closely either. Obviously since I'm npt cussing up a storm I didn't get banned lol. Given things like SE flatly denying any sort of monitoring that is reported back to them I suspect they are not using client side monitoring to bann people. My suspicion is that they are just making use of some of the server side and GM call tools that they can use for banning people. I also suspect that if anything negative the client side scans are part of client side only anti botting code. There is all kinds of ways they could interfere with botting withou...

Also, similar to what Hammy was saying, if you have an extra HD you can switch your normal HD with the extra. Then install windows onto the extra. Then install the original as a slave and since your booting from the extra you have complete access to all of your original HD without the password. From there you can copy over your stuff to the extra or you can try to change/hack the account info(password) on your original from the outside.
Although from the sound of responses it seems like the earlier posted link covered everything you need.

Some asshat that I assume is pissed at RMT so decided to flame/rant at us since /Sarcasm On "of course all hackers/botters are RMT" /Sarcasm Off But seriously if you are gonna try to bitch at us or convince us of your way of thinking then please either be creative or give us a decent arguement respectively rather then making predictions that you have know real knowledge about. The people who are here are here because RMT's and game structure make this the only viable way for us to be able to play and still have real lives. The people that have half a brain and a smidgeon of caution almost never get caught for bots or hacks. It's the...

You're either not understanding my analogy or intentionally ignoring it. I was not saying that the repercussions of clearing them were the same(although there are indirect repercussions of not clearing your temp internet files). What I was saying was that from a site maintenance perspective purging all the inactive, for all we know they've quit, member files is a maintenance issue to clear up resources just like you delete your temporary internet files to clear up resources for your computer. There is a very close similarity between the two if you look at it from the maintenace paerspective instead of just from the perspective of a upset cust...

Are you asking for help or to be given the middle finger and be told to FO? Many many people who have been inactive for awhile have gotten their access back by simply asking nicely and explaining they did not know. For the maintenance of the forums (elimination of dead resources) inactive accounts get cleared so we do not have accounts from people who quit a year ago tieing up space. This is no different from clearing your temp internet files every so often. These inactivity requirements have been in place for quite a while and you only have to log to the site like 3 times a year to maintain activity. If you do not want to piss everyone off a...
