Minimum System Requirements
So I have recently lost my normal day time fish bot PC (very long story) and I have tried to use my backup PC, but it isn't fast enough. It's a P3 500MHz with 300MB+ of RAM. I know SE's min system requirement is 800MHz P3 yada yada yada, but I'm wondering if anyone here can tell me if an 800MHz system will actually run FFXI AND run a fish bot like Iocaine or whatever. Or am I going to have to shell out a few bucks and buy a P4 board, CPU, and PSU (and maybe memory)? FFXI actually runs on my 500MHz system, but the ACTools memory reads are too much for it to handle and all I can actually real in are crayfish. Consider it a contest, who's got th...

RTLaunch.exe is part of Burner's SW package (stands for Rogue Tools Launch). I don't know what happened in your download, but it is on my PC under C:\Program Files\Burnersware\Rogue Tools. I promise you that it is in the package that you paid for. Something probably just got screwed up in the installation. The only thing that I can recommend is to re-download and re-install the package from the download forum page. I would suggest turning off any virus protection SW just in case it decided to delete the file before. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Ok, I'm having a little hard time understanding the question, but I might know what you mean. If you have the Rogue Tool-bar on top (so you see all of the buttons, it's NOT minimized) and then hit the 'escape' key, Rogue tools disappears. I'm pretty sure it's done this to me before and I think there is a post on this somewhere. Just try to keep from hitting escape while the menu is out. Was that your question or did you mean something else?

Wow, good article. I'm not very familiar with SL, but it looks interesting. But I don't see the fed taxing in-game trades/sales for a couple of reasons. One, it would be very difficult to put monetary dollars on gil and digital items in FFXI. Two, I'm pretty sure that SE owns everything in game anyway. It's all on their servers and they can take it all away at their discretion (as they have proven all too often). I can see them taxing RMT's though (if they don't already, I've never bought). In fact, legally, gil sellers (in the US) are obligated to report any income to the fed. They could start charging sales tax as well. But if they start do...

Ok, NOW I understand why they're going through all these bannings this month.

They're trying to boost sales of their new collection. *shakes head* That's pretty low SE, pretty low indeed.

Of course you're right, Gilmore, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating. I don't think there's a question that we know we're cheating, but there are different levels of cheating. If your intention is to dominate certain NM's so that you can sell items and make tons of gil, you're affecting the balance of the economy. If you're using a windower and maybe some plug-ins that enhance the game experience (like recast timer, etc), that's much less destructive and it's frustrating to be tossed out with everyone else. And if astokes (or others) really haven't been playing, much less cheating, since the last ban, that adds to the frustration. J...

This is a question that has been asked 100 times and I've never seen a straight answer. That is probably because...no one knows for sure. We don't know if SE can tell if you are using windower or not. And, yes, I know there are lot's of reasons that "they can't detect windower" and other people say that "that's all that I was using" or "they check to see if you're using alt-tab". Truth is, no one knows for sure. Even if someone really did get banned and all that they were using since they first started playing FFXI was windower, maybe SE just made a mistake. Point is, unless you're on SE's payroll, you don't know...

Point taken. But I still don't think that having a small advantage over another player is that big of a deal. If it was PvP I would definitely agree. But how is having a windower or.........oh nevermind. I see your point and I won't argue cause in the end you're right (although your simile is a little flawed cause I could change 'crack' to 'cigarettes' and make the counter argument, think about it). And you can't compare FFXI to crack. FFXI is WAY more addictive. :drunk: If I was a PS2 or XB player I'd be really pissed and probably would have quit by now. We've all just gotten so used to cheating that we don't see the other side anymore. I st...

Fine, let's use the classic example of speeding. Not everyone speeds, but most people do. We all know it's illegal and we know the consequences if we get caught, but we do it anyway. If you speed, you're going to get to where you're going faster than someone who is obeying the law (in general). There is an obvious difference between someone that drives 70 in a 65 and someone that drives 90 in a 65. Both are in violation of the law. The guy going 90 is endangering other people much more than the guy going 70 (all things being equal). If the police pull me over going 70 as the guy going 90 just blew by, I'd be pretty pissed. I'm not arguing the...

I think if they re-instate you they will just continue to charge your card as if nothing happened. I would think that they would email you or something like that, but don't know for sure. The first month of the new game will be free, but you would still be out the $30 for the game itself if you buy a new one.

Let me guess, you have an ATI video card? I ask cause I've had the exact same problem with two ATI cards now. One card does it on any resolution setting and the other does it only on 1600x1200 (I think). I use the setting just below that and the two cursers meet up. I honestly don't know what's wrong with it, but I'm pretty sure it's something to do with my video card cause I've changed out the card (or changed resolutions) and the problem goes away. And the blue arrow only responds to the windows (white) pointer, not the gold FFXI pointer. Lastly, from in game if you go to Config -> Mouse/Cam -> Screen Edge Panning -> Off. That will keep you...

Just for archiving purposes in case anyone else is looking in the future, I put together a system that bots with Iocaine just fine. The system is:
P3 933MHz
128 x 3 MB SDRAM @ 100MHz
Windows XP (obviously) Pro
128MB ATI card, junk really, but it works
I also normally use Tight VNC to remote in from work to check on my fishing sweat shop. This system will run FFXI and VNC, but lags too much when doing mem reads with Iocaine. So as long as I pause the bot while I'm remoted in, it works fine.
Hope someone can find this useful.
