I hate mkv but i did figure out how to change them to a dvd format. ill have to dig through my pc and find the files that i used tho. soon as i find them ill post what there called

ok try this https://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/ its called mkvtoolnix is suppose to like split the files then put them back togather in a way that they can be understood. you can also use it to change the languages take out subtitles remove chapters and some other stuff. i think i used this program + dvd santa to burn the movies to dvd but been a while since i played with mkv so not 100% sure.

well when you say its anime there is a very good chance that they are using the mkv codecs from here

https://cccp-project.net/

i recomend installing this pack, then you should be able to drag and drop mkv files into windws media player, a warrninf will come up just say yes or whatever, thenyou should be setup and playing

as mkv files are a multi audio / video format, normally you will see addition icons appear in your system tray in the lower right hand corner of your screen. you should be able to right-click on one of these to change the audio or video streams

in you case you probabally have japanese and english audio, and english subtitles on or off.

if you have any addition questions i'll try and answer them

Thanks for the nice link justinsane, some of the stuff was outdated by quite a bit but it got me eventually to where i needed to go. Trying out a free proggy that converts the mkv and ogm files into avi's. Looks like it is working fine but will let you know after it finishes how they came out.

Hmmm one I was trying worked great except what I tried it on the sound didn't come out. Will keep looking/testing

K found one that is working great so far. Heres the link.

Real Video is incapable of playing Mkv

Try dragging and droping the video into windows media player
