Ok complete noob here all over again but I don't remember how this was handled in the past sooo!
Does Square-enix give an estimate as to when the realms will be back up or does anyone have that info/link to that info?
All I can find is realm status which shows maintenance but gives no determination as to when they can be expected back online.

It was in the section info right before you go to "Play" ffxi, just before the disclaimer about not letting ffxi rule your life, etc, etc, etc. I think it was 8am to 8pm pacific, but not totally sure about that. And since it's such a major update, they may take longer. They'll usually post something on their website about extended maintenance or whatever.
