U will need a mouse,keyboard, and monitor but u can spend the rest of ur budget on that stuff if u bought it for the $1300

Built a Core 2 Duo machine thats what i use now it is very nice and thats coming from someone who hates intel. But if you can wait a couple months intel is comming out with a quad core which should be real nice. But if in a rush Core 2 is the way to go even there lowest proc is sweet built one for a buddy of mine he loves it.
I think you can buy Quad Core now, I know someone who has a Quad Core in there server.
